Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Cyber Fellows mentor will work with K-12 teaching fellows to help them succeed in completing their cybersecurity certificate program. The mentor will schedule meetings with cyber fellows each week to support their learning and progress through the program. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to create individualized mentoring session tailored to meet the unique needs of each fellow that supports their academic success. Each fellow is allotted at least one hour of mentoring per week; therefore, the mentor will maintain accurate records of time spent with each Cyber Fellow. The mentor will update PI at the end of each week and report on progress with Cyber Fellows.

This part time position is grant funded and will end upon the conclusion of the third cohort, which at this time is May 2023.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working/training teachers
  • CompTIA Security+ exam
  • 2-5 years of experience teaching cybersecurity concepts

    -While performing the duties of the job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to the risk of electrical shock. -The employee is exposed to normal emissions from computer equipment such as electro-magnetic waves and monitor radiation. -The noise level ranges from low to moderate.
