Salary Range: $3,461 - $4,137/Monthly (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range: $3,461 - $3,747/Monthly)

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 2:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; non-exempt classification.

Essential Functions: The incumbent sweeps, scrubs, mops, waxes, and polishes floors; cleans classrooms, laboratories, shops, lavatories, locker rooms, blackboards, windows, Venetian blinds, replenish lavatory supplies, empties wastebaskets, and removes trash, replaces lamps and light fixtures, unlocks and locks doors and windows. Cooperates with faculty and students in moving tables, chairs, and other furniture and equipment. Incumbent will be making minor building maintenance repairs and adjustments in laboratories, classrooms, and auditoriums. Assist in setting up and preparing for athletic events, assemblies, and graduation exercises.

Required Qualifications & Experience: Knowledge of the proper use and care of janitorial supplies and equipment; safe working conditions, practices, and methods; custodial systems used to track work orders; two-way radio communication; and basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email. Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; follow verbal and written instructions; safely operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies; observe safety requirements and maintain safe work practices; use custodial work-order systems and two-way radios; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; and perform work requiring regular physical activity. Must be able to safely lift or move up to 50 pounds and spend more than half of the work time walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, or climbing. A basic level of computer literacy is required, including the ability to use Microsoft Office, navigate the internet, and correspond via email. Possession of a valid California driver’s license is required. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position. A task may be included as part of the interview process.
