Course Administrator (Fixed Term to 30/11/2027)

Job description

We have an exciting temporary opportunity in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences; we are looking to appoint a pro-active and enthusiastic Course Administrator on a temporary basis (until 30th November 2027), to cover a period of maternity leave.

The postholder will provide efficient administrative support for courses and work closely with academic colleagues to ensure a positive student experience throughout the whole of the student journey. Duties will include proactive management of course administration, acting as a key contact point for students and the course team. Maintaining and updating localised and centralised records, organising and servicing of meetings and compiling reports.

The successful candidate will possess high level spreadsheet, database and word processing skills; the ability to keep accurate records; excellent communication skills and a drive to provide outstanding customer service. They will also be able to prioritise workloads under pressure and demonstrate a flexible approach to work.

The role is based at City Campus and is suitable for a mixture of on campus and hybrid working. Working arrangements are dependent on the job role, team and University requirements and will be discussed with candidates at interview.

To arrange an informal discussion about this post, please contact Elizabeth Kijewski at [email protected].

Closing date: Friday 27th November 2026 (23:59)

Please be advised that due to the minimum salary thresholds imposed by the UKVI, this post will not qualify for university sponsorship for new applicants to the Skilled Worker visa route. You must have the right to work in the UK to apply for this vacancy.

Working here means you’ll also have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.

We welcome applications from all individuals and particularly from black and minority ethnic candidates as members of these groups are currently under-represented at this level of post. All appointments will be based on merit.

Leeds Beckett University is a Disability Confident Employer. Disabled candidates who demonstrate all essential criteria within the Person Specification will be invited to an interview.
