  • About This Opportunity

    We are seeking a dynamic and highly organised Concerts and Ensembles Officer to enhance the music student experience and elevate the public-facing activities of the School of Music.

    In this role, you will be at the heart of planning, organising, coordinating, and promoting rehearsals, concerts, and various events. Reporting to the School Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a diverse range of administrative processes to support these exciting outcomes.

    Key responsibilities will include:

  • Schedule and administer concerts and events, liaising with artists, agents, and external venues. Ensure front and back of house arrangements, including equipment setup and piano tuning.

  • Create and support promotional materials, including concert programs and competition entry forms. Update web and social media content for the School of Music.

  • Assist with recording and live streaming events, including public lectures and examination recitals.

  • Ensure all materials reflect the UQ brand and publication standards. Collaborate with the HASS Marketing and Engagement Team and the HASS Advancement Director on events and initiatives.

  • Attend functions outside normal business hours, including weekly student ensemble rehearsals during semester on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

  • About You:
  • A relevant degree or diploma or a degree or diploma with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing events and coordinating activities.

  • Demonstrated skills in providing a high level of client service, including effective interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

  • Effective organisational, time management and problem solving skills.

  • Experience working as a team member in a busy environment.

  • Working knowledge of University administrative systems, policies and procedures or the capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge.

  • The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre- employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
