About This Opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Compliance Officer to join the Placement Ready Team in our renowned Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Behavioural Sciences.
As a key member of our team, you will take charge of initiating, monitoring, and reporting on compliance for students enrolled in programs with a WIL component across the Faculty. Your responsibilities will include coordinating various administrative tasks to ensure students meet pre-placement compliance standards in their respective disciplines. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in managing business processes related to student placement agreements and ensuring compliance among our placement providers.
This version maintains clarity and professionalism while presenting the role's responsibilities in a cohesive and engaging manner.
Key responsibilities will include:
Initiate, process, monitor and maintain accurate records of student compliance for a wide range of existing and emerging pre-placement compliance requirements including but not limited to Working with Children checks, Disability Worker Screening checks, Criminal History checks, Immunisations, CPR, First Aid and UQ Placement Safety Training, travel declarations, and Queensland Health requirements.
Design, monitor, analyse, interpret, and compile reports using a variety of enterprise systems including the University's Placement Management System (InPlace), and combine large datasets from various sources to report on the compliance and non-compliance of students.
Understand and maintain currency with relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements related to pre-placement compliance and be able to manage multiple disciplines each with their own specific requirements.
Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with Placement Managers and Academic staff, negotiate processes and deadlines and demonstrate effective time management skills to ensure that business requirements are met, and the required standard of service delivery is achieved.
Provide face-to-face support and other consultation services (Video Call, phone, online chat) direct to students in relation to their compliance requirements.

About You
Relevant work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated ability to work under general direction and follow established procedures whilst contributing positively to an effective team through highly developed interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex rules, provide accurate and timely advice and handle sensitive matters confidentially.
A proven ability to organise and prioritise tasks, negotiate and meet competing deadlines and manage multiple tasks and large datasets.
High level of proficiency in the use of computer software packages and enterprise systems including databases, spreadsheets, and email with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills, with proven experience in preparing quality correspondence.
Experience in using InPlace Placement Management System, UniTask and UQ Reportal and the Microsoft Office Suite specifically Excel would be advantageous.
It is desirable for a completion of a degree level qualification
Other Information
Flexibility to work occasional non-standard hours is required in order to meet critical deadlines. Leave restrictions may apply during peak periods.
Primary location is St Lucia; however, you may be required to work at the Herston or Dutton Park campuses.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre- employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check.
