Competitive Sports (CoSpo) Supervisors work with both Intramurals and Sport Club programs. CoSpo Supervisors are responsible for supervising Intramural events and Sport Club practices and events taking place at various campus locations throughout the year. Supervisors serve as the representative of the department at Intramural competitions and Sport Club functions. This position reports to the Competitive Sports professional staff.

Responsibilities include:

Maintain current American Red Cross certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid; follow emergency care procedures in the event of an injury or emergency. Follow emergency care procedures in the event of an injury or emergency. Be a “team player” with supervisors, officials, peers, and all other Campus Recreation employees. Understand and abide by all Campus Recreation employee policies and procedures. Attend mandatory meetings, orientations, and staff development workshops. Serve as an ambassador for all Campus Recreation programming. Educate participants on benefits of participation in a variety of Campus Recreation events. Setting up fields and/or courts for competition. Checking-in intramural participants prior to games and rec club members prior to practices and home games and/or events. Supervising and evaluating intramural officials. Officiating intramural contests when necessary. Providing customer services to all participants, club members and spectators. Completing the necessary nightly paperwork and reporting back to CoSpo Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator and/or CoSpo Manager. Assisting with the coordination and execution of officials sports specific training sessions. Responding to all emergency situations. Collecting money from Sport Club event sales and other cash handling aspects of Sport Clubs. Assisting with other duties as assigned by the CoSpo professional Staff.

This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

Required Qualifications

Basic knowledge of recreational/sporting activities. American Red Cross CPR/AED and standard First Aid Certification. Excellent customer service skills. Good communication skills and ability to work well with others.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants should have at least 1 semester of CoSpo experience to apply. Officiating or participating in a Sport Club or Intramural Sport is considered a CoSpo experience.
