  • About the Role As Communications Coordinator (Science) you will support the delivery of strategic communications and stakeholder engagement across the Faculty of Science and the broader university. You will plan, develop and deliver a broad range of communications activities to support the Faculty of Science's priorities and programs to drive awareness and advocacy, internally and externally.

    You will be required to develop a deep understanding of stakeholders and audiences, and to proactively identify content creation opportunities for these audiences. This role will support the implementation of University-wide initiatives to drive engagement and awareness within the academic divisions

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing communication materials for use across the full range of strategic communications disciplines, including media relations, stakeholder engagement, internal communications, issues management and corporate event management
  • Writing high-quality content to engage external and internal audiences for multiple channels including media releases, website, leadership speeches, staff newsletters and Pursuit.
  • Supporting the tactical execution of the integrated strategic communications plan
  • Working in collaboration with relevant staff to create and implement promotional strategies to generate participation and engagement in faculty and institutional programs and activities
  • Who We Are Looking For We're looking for someone with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build, establish and maintain relationships and manage multiple stakeholders. You will work well independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a rapidly changing and agile environment. We are looking for a self-starter who possesses excellent organisation skills and the ability to balance priorities and competing demands in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    You will also have:

  • A degree with relevant experience, or extensive experience and specialist expertise in communications, or an equivalent combination of both
  • Expertise in the production of targeted, engaging communications for print, digital and social channels
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Proven track record in executing projects

    This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
