I. DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

Job Description Summary:

GW's Community Counseling Services Center (CCSC) serves as a resource to the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area by providing low-cost counseling and referral services, clinical screenings, and outreach programming. Committed to antiracist and anti-oppressive praxis, the CCSC empowers clients through community outreach and client advocacy while providing opportunities for master's and doctoral level counseling students to implement and develop expertise in counseling under the close supervision of faculty and clinical supervisors.

The CCSC is seeking a dedicated mental health professional to 1) provide clinical and operational oversight in the CCSC while students are conducting counseling sessions; and 2) provide individual and/or triadic supervision to practicum students. Providing clinical and operational oversight to the CCSC requires working on site for a minimum of six consecutive hours, providing technical, procedural and clinical guidance to students and leading a response to clients in crisis. This position reports directly to the Director.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Intentionally employing and promoting antiracist/anti-oppressive interventions in clinic management and supervision;

· Monitoring CCSC service delivery with regard to professional and ethical service provision;

· Being present in the CCSC when counseling sessions are taking place, Mondays, 2:30-8:30 PM; or Tuesdays, 2:30-8:30 PM; Thursdays, 2:30-8:30 PM or Thursdays, 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM

· Ensuring the safety of clients who may be in crisis, providing crisis management, guidance and oversight.

· Providing supervision to master's or doctoral students, Tuesday Mornings, 8:00 to 11:45 AM, Tuesday Evenings, 4:15 to 8:00 PM or Wednesday Morning, 8:00 to 11:45 AM

· Providing formative and summative student evaluation(s);

· Attending CCSC administrative meetings and a block meeting

· Attending meetings of the Department's Clinical Training Committee.

· Ensuring clear communication with students and faculty around technical, procedural, and clinical procedures and policies
