Department of Psychiatry, Warneford Hospital, Oxford OX3 7JX
We are looking to appoint a clinical researcher to join the psycho-immunology team in the Department of Psychiatry. The team, led by Professor Belinda Lennox, includes psychiatrists, neurologists, neuro-immunologists and researchers who are exploring the possible autoimmune causes of severe mental illness, using a broad range of methods, from basic cellular research, through to clinical trials.
The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford. The post is full time; however, consideration would be given to staff wanting to work part-time (minimum 40% FTE) on a pro-rata basis.
The post is for a fixed term (funded for two years).
You will be involved in the assessment and analysis of clinical, cognitive, neuroimaging and biological measures in people with mental health disorders. Participants will be recruited from clinical services in Oxford, especially the Early Intervention in Psychosis service. The post would suit a psychiatry or neurology trainee with an interest a clinical academic career.
You will have a medical degree and GMC registration, and have completed foundation training (or equivalent), along with a strong interest in neuropsychiatric research. A higher degree/Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) would be desirable as would experience of clinical/psychiatric research.
