We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Research Fellow in Rheumatology to work within Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) under the supervision of Professor Javid and Pinedo- Villanueva.
As a Clinical Research Fellow you will develop, optimise and deliver the baseline and longitudinal characterisation, quality of life and productivity loss of patients and carers following initiation of burosumab for adults with X-linked hypophosphataemic rickets (XLH).
The outline of the DPhil will include:
• Adapting the existing online Rudy platform to include the minimal participant and clinical data set XLH specific set of patient participant completed and clinician completed forms at baseline, first dose and follow-up through literature reviews, multidisciplinary workshops and patient co- production.
• Support adults with XLH to register and actively participate with RUDY platform through quarterly patient facing webinars, an annual meeting and reminders for those participants who do not complete their assessments.
• Support uploading of clinician data but enabling the fellow to have an honorary contract and directly upload the clinical data to the RUDY platform in consented participants.
• Analyse the baseline and follow-up RUDY patient and clinical data
You will be managing own academic research and administrative activities related to the DPhil. This involves small scale project management, to co- ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will develop new research database content, engage in patient and public involvement, present papers at conferences and act as a source of information and advice to other members of the team.
You will hold a National Training Number, together with relevant experience in a discipline related to XLH, inclusion in the GMC Full Register with a license to practice and be able to commence a full time DPhil in April 2025. Experience in epidemiological research and managing adults with XLH would be desirable.
This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for 3 years
