  • About This Opportunity

    We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Clinical Research Coordinator to provide clinical research coordination and implementation of a newly funded clinical trial led by the Childhood Allergy and Epidemiology Research Group.

    Funded by the NHMRC and Ramsay Hospital Research Foundation over 4 years, PRESENT ( P asteu R is E d donor human milk S uppl E mentatio N for T erm babies) will investigate the benefits of pasteurised donor human milk for term infants born to mothers with diabetes who need extra feeding in the first four days of life.

    The PRESENT trial aims to:

  • Compare the effectiveness of pasteurised donor human milk versus standard formula in reducing neonatal intensive care admissions.

  • Explore additional outcomes like hospital stays, breastfeeding rates, maternal mental health, and infant cow's milk allergy.

  • Enrol approximately 1,400 babies across four hospitals in Queensland and Victoria.

  • Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain regulatory submissions for clinical projects, ensuring adherence to GCP guidelines and ethics regulations across multiple project sites.

  • Establish collaborations with key stakeholders, participate in meetings, and promote participant recruitment and engagement activities in coordination with research teams.

  • Provide data for research outcome reporting, prepare abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and publications. Additionally, maintain clinical trial management systems, assist in data analysis, and prepare reports.

  • Assist in coordinating assessments and intervention episodes, screen patients for trial suitability across multiple hospital clinics, conduct participant interviews, obtain informed consent, and enrol participants in trials.

  • About You
  • Hold tertiary qualifications in health sciences or related fields, with experience in research management in a tertiary setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrates eligibility to work with children and familiarity with Blue Card requirements or AHPRA registration.

  • Exhibits experience in clinical/research project management, including knowledge of ethics processes, governance, and clinical trials registration. Also proficient in budget management and stakeholder liaison.

  • Possesses previous experience with clinical research data capture and management using REDCap, and proficient in written communication using various computer and web applications.

  • You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
