Clinical Research Associate INTERNAL ONLY (Fixed Term)

We are looking for a medically qualified trainee in oncology to join an established, multidisciplinary team investigating cancer cachexia.

The post has an essential requirement for an experienced clinician with significant oncology clinical training, who also has experience in participant recruitment and a strong knowledge of "Good Clinical Practice" as it relates to clinical research. These requirements are essential as the studies are already open and running to a recruitment deadline.

Similarly, previous experience in relevant clinical research and detailed phenotypic characterization of participants is essential as the role involves undertaking human based studies, including test meals and measurement of energy expenditure.

The team is part of the CANcer Cachexia Action Network ("CANCAN") group and includes oncologists, endocrinologist and psychiatrists looking to understand disorders of body composition in cancer. CANCAN is a US/UK consortium funded by Cancer Grand Challenges, a major initiative co-funded for 3 years by Cancer Research UK and the National Cancer Institute in the US.

The work is also supported by the Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).

The primary supervisor will be Dr Anthony Coll (Clinical Biochemistry, Institute of Metabolic Science).

The work will be carried out in a number of facilities on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.

This appointment requires an Honorary Clinical Contract.
