The post of Cleaner is a critical role in the Infrastructure Services Directorate providing a frontline customer facing service across an Estate which is circa 250,000m2 consisting of 107 Buildings with an annual turnover of £23m.
It is an exciting time for the Team as we drive improvements in compliance, efficiency, customer service and performance as well as creating the opportunity to gain competitive advantages through our activity-underpinned by a significant investment in the Estate in conjunction with a full modernisation programme across the Teams' systems and processes.
Reporting to the Senior Facilities Supervisor, Cleaners will be part of a team delivering basic service provision. The postholder will be familiar with and understand effective working procedures across a range of cleaning activities with relevant training provided as is required.
Specifically the postholder will:
- Carry out daily, weekly and deep cleaning operations in Teaching rooms, Communal spaces, Toilet Facilities; Meeting and Function rooms thus providing good customer care.
- Will help to ensure efficiency of service
- Will ensure adherence to Health & Safety guidelines
- Will provide cleaning and waste management services and work as part of a team
- Will be able to work early morning shifts starting from 6am daily
- Will be physically fit to carry out daily cleaning tasks
Exemplary team working is critical to this role as is the ability to communicate with a wide range of staff, students and stakeholders. Working hours can be variable depending on services provided and current conditions but will typically be worked on a five out of seven day basis with a flexible approach required to the actual working hours.
The position available is: 15 hours 6am-9am (Monday to Friday)
