The post of Cleaner is a critical role in the Infrastructure Services Directorate, providing a frontline customer facing service across an Estate which is 250,000m2 consisting of 107 buildings with an annual operational turnover of £23m.
It is an exciting time for the team as we drive improvements in compliance, efficiency, customer service and performance as well as creating the opportunity to gain competitive advantages through our activity - underpinned by a significant investment in the Estate in conjunction with a full modernisation programme across the teams systems and processes.
Reporting to the Senior Facilities Supervisor, Cleaners will be part of a team delivering basic service provision. The Postholder will be familiar with and understand effective working procedures across a range of cleaning activities with relevant training provided as required.
They will carry out Daily, Weekly and Deep cleaning operations in Teaching Rooms, Communal areas, Toilet Facilities, Meeting & Function Rooms thus providing good customer care.
They will help to ensure efficiency of service.
They will ensure adherance to Health & Safety guidelines.
They will provide cleaning and waste management services and work as part of a Team.
Exemplary team working is critical to this role as is the ability to communicate with a wide range of staff, students and stakeholders. Working hours are variable depending on service provided and current conditions but will typically be worked on a five out of seven day basis with a flexible approach required to the actual working hours.
