About the Job

Are you passionate about driving positive change through impactful communication? As the Change Communications Manager at the University of East London, you will be pivotal in delivering our ambitious Vision 2028. This is an exciting opportunity to support transformative initiatives by creating and implementing communication strategies that foster understanding, engagement, and a culture of change. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the University, you will ensure our communication efforts resonate with Schools, Services, staff, and students, helping them navigate and embrace change effectively.

In this role, you will design and deliver change communication strategies, develop tailored messaging frameworks, and ensure the success of our initiatives by tracking and reporting on their impact. You'll be instrumental in embedding a culture of adaptability and innovation across the institution.

About You

You are a skilled communicator with a strategic mindset and a flair for crafting clear, compelling messages that resonate with diverse audiences. Your collaborative approach, empathy, and understanding of how people experience change enable you to connect with stakeholders at all levels. With strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, you thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You are experienced in developing and executing change communication strategies, segmenting audiences, and utilising a range of communication channels effectively. Your ability to inspire and engage stakeholders is matched by your proficiency in tracking and reporting communication performance. A background in Higher education is desirable but not essential. What You'll Need to Thrive:

  • Strategic Thinking : The ability to translate complex ideas into simple, actionable messages.
  • Communication Excellence : Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with experience in tailoring messages for diverse audiences.
  • Relationship Management : Proven ability to establish strong working relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • Analytical Skills : Confidence in measuring communication impact and providing insights to inform decision-making.
  • Adaptability: Capacity to work effectively under pressure and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Collaboration : A team player who works seamlessly across departments.
  • Tools Proficiency: Expertise in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • About External Relations Directorate

    The directorate is made up of several teams including Communications & Engagement, Marketing, Recruitment and Conversion, Outreach and Access, Change, and Transformation (Design and Digital), Events and Advancement, and the International Office.
