UQ Skills are seeking passionate professionals from the Agriculture and Rural Operations sector who are eager to inspire and educate the next generation by sharing their expertise and knowledge.
Our Casual Agriculture and Rural Operations Educators play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education by engaging in a variety of responsibilities, including assisting with the development of training and assessment materials, facilitating engaging classroom and practical sessions, managing student progress and administrative tasks, and ensuring compliance with UQ Skills' policies and ASQA requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
Empower Learning Excellence : Shape and refine training tools, assessments, and lesson plans, ensuring first-rate delivery and continuous improvement.
Inspire and Support Students : Prepare engaging materials, track progress, and provide valuable feedback while fostering success in your students.
Drive Administrative Precision : Seamlessly manage student records, attendance, and compliance using systems like aXcelerate.
Champion Professional Standards : Uphold confidentiality, follow vocational policies, and collaborate to create industry-leading training resources.

About You
We are seeking individuals passionate about empowering and sharing their expertise with the next generation across diverse educational contexts, including high schools, undergraduate programs, and industry training.
Our ideal candidates will bring valuable industry knowledge from sectors such as feedlots, cotton production, beef cattle operations, cropping, and agricultural management and those working in large rural enterprises. Experience in livestock production, cattle breeding, and running agricultural enterprises is highly desirable, alongside:
Industry qualification(s) within your respective area of expertise
Ideally a Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40110)
Knowledge of Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) standards or ability to rapidly obtain
Proficiency in using a variety of computer applications, particularly the Microsoft Office suite, and experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Management Systems (SMS), or the ability to quickly acquire these skills.
Strong written and oral communication, organisational skills, and the ability to establish collaborative relationships, work independently, and deliver engaging, impactful teaching materials.
Whilst we are ideally seeking candidates who already hold a Cert IV in Training and Assessment, UQ Skills are willing to offer passionate industry professionals the paid opportunity to complete their Cert IV whilst gaining valuable experience undertaking this role.
The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks including, right to work in Australia and education checks.
