Required License/Registration/Certification
None. Student employee will be required to attain the Wilderness First Responder certification along with some in house training once hired.
Physical Requirements
The position may require lifting or pushing objects up to 50lbs, or extended amounts of time walking or standing.
Shift
Trips can range from half day to full day to overnight. Spring break and fall break trip leaders will be chosen by the Coordinator.
Job Summary
- Participate in pre trip meetings with Coordinator and Assistant Director
- Conduct pre trip meetings with participants when needed based on trip.
- Help promote and market the trips throughout the semester
- Lead at least 2 trips in the Fall and then again in the Spring
- Update the Coordinator with travel updates when applicable or asked for.
- Stay current with best practices and trends - Attend and participate in all monthly staff meetings during the semester
- Maintain WFR, First Aid, CPR and AED certification as well as in house trainings.
- Pass monthly test outs for WFR scenarios conducted by the Coordinator.
