  • About the Role This position reports directly to the Digital Solution Manager within the Information Technology department and plays a pivotal role in enhancing our application portfolio. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will be tasked with establishing robust partnerships with stakeholders and colleagues to drive significant improvements. Your responsibilities will include analysing and defining business requirements, mapping them to relevant systems and platforms, conducting detailed functional and non-functional gap-fit analyses, and designing and implementing innovative solutions. This may also involve business process reengineering and systems optimization to ensure we meet evolving organizational needs.

    In this role, you will lead the daily operations of the application team within Digital Technology Solutions, under the broad direction of the Digital Solution Manager. This includes effectively prioritizing and allocating tasks among team members, and serving as a key point of escalation for issues that cannot be resolved at the team level. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of our applications and in fostering a collaborative team environment.

    About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Substantial experience in developing and implementing technical solutions to meet business needs, ensuring adherence to standard processes and/or government legislation in a large, complex organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in project managing business process improvement initiatives and realizing tangible and intangible business benefits.
  • Proven understanding of change and change drivers, responding adaptively to changing organizational priorities and the impact of technological and industry change.
  • Proven ability to make a significant contribution of the University including provision of authoritative advice relating to areas of responsibility and the development of strategic and operational plans.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with university staff on all levels.
  • Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • COBIT/ TOGAF certification—preferable
