Position Summary Information
Responsibilities
The Business Developer will identify, research and recruit new clients for the Women Minority Business Development Center (WMBDC).
Qualifications
Applicant must have proven experience in building and maintaining relationships with businesses through different prospecting methods/lead generation, including to but not limited to scheduled appointments, outbound calling, virtual meetings, when appropriate. Must work independently and with minimal supervision. Must possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, technology, facilitation and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem solving are a must.
Salary Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university's resources. Minimum Qualifications
The business developer must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, other related field or appropriate documented work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicant may have two (2) years of demonstrated expertise in working closely with businesses from startups, business expansion to next levels in business, and competitive in the technology-based global society; a working knowledge of the small business development lifecycle; familiarity with business planning and development strategies for launching small business opportunities; excellent communication skills in building community partnerships; ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with emphasis on effectively prioritization and organizing projects to ensure results are based on supervisors goals, vision and direction; familiarity with technological skills in areas such as video conferencing, remote business counseling, social media integration techniques, professional training and conferences using zoom/google meet/etc.; familiarity with business technology and software technology including business specifics platforms such as financial planning, financial recordkeeping, business planning, customized database, marketing/promotional tools, and web-based business subscriptions.
