This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in the Department of Politics and International Studies, within the Faculty of Human, Social and Political Science.
The role
You will oversee and manage delivery of the business, administration and services of the department with responsibility for a team of 27 professional services staff. You will advise and support the Head of Department, Politics and International Studies (POLIS) and other senior staff on overall strategy to achieve the institutions aims and objectives in relation to teaching and research.
You will advise the Head of Department on overall policy and strategy and strategic planning, finance, research administration and resource management, and support them in the planning and management of the administration and implementation of new policies on resource management (financial, human, estate) to support teaching and research.
Your skills
-You will be educated to at least first degree level/Level 6 vocational qualification or equivalent level of experience.
-You will need to demonstrate senior level management experience with strong negotiation and influencing skills as well as the ability to liaise confidently with staff at all levels.
-You will be able to evidence working at a tactical or operational level to deliver strategic planning and change.
