Building Services Manager - HLRI

Are you ready to lead a building team at the forefront of biomedical research? Cambridge University's VPD Heart and Lung Research Institute (HLRI) is seeking a dedicated Building Services Manager to oversee our state-of-the-art building on the biomedical campus.

As part of the HLRI team within the Department of Medicine, you'll contribute to our mission of advancing global heart and lung health. With 400 staff members, our institute is committed to delivering impactful research to combat cardiovascular and respiratory diseases worldwide. The impressive sustainable building contains laboratories, a Clinical Research Facility (CRF), office space and an assortment of seminar and conference rooms. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced staff and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the Institutes facilities. You will oversee a diverse range of building services, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, fire safety and more. Your primary objective will be to lead a team and create a safe, comfortable and efficient environment for staff and students.

Your role involves effective delegation, decision-making, and motivation of both building and laboratory teams. You'll ensure seamless delivery of core facility services, serving as the primary point of contact for problem resolution, equipment management, and stakeholder communication. Upholding our inclusive ethos, you'll embody and promote supportive leadership within the team.
