Building Services Engineer
Description
The University of Plymouth is continuing a dynamic programme of work that encompasses decarbonisation, repairs, refurbishments, and new construction projects. This role will play a crucial part in these initiatives. We are seeking an engineer with a deep understanding of building services to join our team and contribute to the successful execution of our projects. Ideal candidates may have experience as a building services (mechanical or electrical) installer or maintainer, a Clerk of Works, or have worked or trained in building system design, or completed related training. The essential requirement is a solid knowledge of building services.
As a Building Services Engineer, you will work closely with Project Managers and the Maintenance Team to oversee projects, ensuring they meet the necessary standards and specifications. You will be responsible for verifying compliance with building regulations, health and safety, and ecological requirements. Your involvement will span from the initial concept through to project completion, including specification, delivery, commissioning, and transition to maintenance.
This position is based at the University's Plymouth city campus. While the University supports flexible working where feasible, the collaborative nature of this role necessitates regular on-campus presence to foster teamwork. The role is full-time, with a 37-hour work week, and is offered on a permanent basis.
