GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION: Responsible to the Dean of Business Services or designee for the operation of the campus bookstore to include staff, inventory, and daily operation of the bookstore.
Job Duties
• Responsible for the supervision of other bookstore employees at the campus level. • Maintain payroll and leave records for bookstore personnel. • Responsible for overseeing the ordering, receiving and pricing of the bookstores resale merchandise, instructional materials and textbooks. • Responsible for the management of the bookstore budget and report budgeting needs as they occur. • Responsible for the functions of creating purchase orders and receiving documents in Banner software. • Responsible for maintaining accurate records including packing slips, invoices, and monthly reconciliation for a college issued procurement card with which many bookstore purchases are made. • Maintain book information within the MGCCC book service program. • Supervise the issuing and collecting of serialized book service books as well as maintain records of student with delinquent book service books. • Responsible for the collection of money, preparation of bank and credit card deposits and reconciliation of funds. • Through the use of Winprism POS/ Inventory control, conduct a yearly inventory of all merchandise and books. • Responsible for inventory control maintenance of the bookstore inventory giving keen awareness to POS control reports and through theft/loss/shrinkage preparedness. • Other duties as assigned by Dean of Business Services or designee.
Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) Associate Degree in Business or related area. (M2) Minimum of 5 years experience in business related area including purchasing, inventory, and budgeting experience. (M3) Experience in supervision and management. (M4) Proficient in the use of computers to include point of sale systems. (M5) Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Experience in a retail environment. (D2) Experience dealing with the public. (D3) Experience in an educational environment.
