Title AY23-24 Office Assistant (Work Study)
Position Description
Bridgewater State University's Division for Student Life is primarily
responsible for welcoming, creating, and inspiring student life. Departments
within the Division for Student Life hold hundreds of events each year,
dedicated to engaging students, faculty, and the Bridgewater State community.
Bridgewater State University strives to ensure that each of our students has
access to the services they need and the activities that will inspire them.
The departments within the Division for Student Life are here to get students
connected in ways that matter most to them.
The main function of this position is to provide support to the Staff
Assistant, Administrative Assistant, and Directors.
The Office Assistant will learn and demonstrate:
Leadership Skills through role modeling professional behavior in person
and online with clients and staff, providing feedback and direction
through clear communication, and making decisions that move the team
forward.
Assessment Skills through data collection, analysis, and evaluation about
organizational systems, execution, and performance.
Talent Management Skills through learning outcomes based training
programs, focused on developing both individuals and the team.
Organizational Change and Political Skills through developing a broader
understanding of Higher Education's organizational structure and culture
by actively engaging with all levels of the University.
Preferred Qualifications
The applicant must be able to work in a fast paced office
Have excellent computer skills and attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidential information and be reliable in reporting
to work for the assigned hours is of utmost importance
Must have a positive and professional attitude
The successful candidate will be a mature, responsible, independent
thinker, who demonstrates flexibility and good problem solving skills
Demonstration of excellent writing or marketing skills
Excellent verbal communication skills ,strong customer service
orientation, and ability to interact well with the diverse segments of the
Bridgewater State University community preferred
