  • About the Role The Department of Business, Design, Media & ICT within Vocational Education are currently seeking an Audio Visual Technician to join the team. We are looking for a dedicated individual with specialist expertise and knowledge to manage, maintain, repair, and secure all audio-visual equipment and facilities. Your expertise will be crucial in researching, testing, and purchasing new equipment to support programs and learning activities in Screen and Media.

    As our Audio Visual/Digital Technician, you will ensure all audio-visual equipment and facilities are functioning and available, as well as provide teacher support in the form of sign off on student equipment loans to ensure WHS equipment compliance to enable the effective delivery of all programs within the department. This is a hands-on role that requires regular lifting of equipment for transportation and storage purposes, and thorough knowledge and adherence to WH&S procedures is required.

    We are seeking someone with a passion for AV technology, attention to detail, a can-do attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all members of staff, students and external stakeholders to assist in course delivery and a variety of screen and media activities.

    About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Thorough understanding of high definition and ultra high-definition film and television production equipment including camera, sound, lighting, and grip equipment.
  • Ability to maintain, service, repair and update various camera models, lighting fixtures, sound equipment, hardware and grip equipment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to build, format and setup required camera equipment, and troubleshoot technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of on-set WH&S procedures.
  • Proficient computer skills – working with various computer technologies and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise and effectively work in a team environment with confidence in providing instruction to others.
  • Qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma or equivalent qualification in the field of Film and Television.
  • Test and Tag qualified.
