Are you passionate about nature and types of organisations? Could you identify how organisations develop successful strategies in the face of rapidly changing environments? Can you explain the skills and capabilities involved in strategy and business planning.

If so Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking an Associate Tutor to teach within Birkbeck's Business School next year.

As Associate Tutor, you will teach:

  • SC07002S3 Understanding Organisations
  • 54 hours
  • Thursdays, 1530—1700 & 1800-1930, Spring Term
  • Thursdays, 1530—1700 & 1800-1930, Summer Term
  • subject to change, total hours confirmed pre-interview

    You will have knowledge of understanding organisations in a business setting and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).

    As Associate Tutor for the Faculty of Business and Law you will gain valuable experience in leading seminars, facilitating discussion amongst students, dealing with their queries on the materials during the sessions, and supporting learning through marking feedback.

    To be successful, you will have demonstrable expertise and experience in the field related to the subject of the seminars, and excellent communication skills.

    Please refer to the person specification for further selection criteria. You will normally have upgraded to PhD registration at Birkbeck and teaching experience is desirable but not essential.

    Remuneration

    Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £59.91 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked.

    This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 6 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier' at 2.5, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
