Background of the recruitment and description of the project Background of the recruitment and description of the project Kyoto University Institute for Integrated Radiation and Nuclear Science (KURNS) invites applications for an Associate Professor position, as described below.

KURNS was established to work for the joint-use program among Japanese universities to promote research and education in the fields of nuclear reactors and related subjects. The Kyoto University Research Reactor (KUR) and related research facilities have been used in a wide variety of scientific areas. https: // www. rri.kyoto-u.ac.jp/en/job

Work content and job description The successful candidate is expected to lead active research projects on inorganic materials (such as inorganic engineering materials, earth and planetary materials, environmental materials, etc.) using a combination of experimental techniques of advanced neutron scattering and material synthesis in special environments. The candidate is expected to contribute and promote the abovementioned joint-use and student education programs at KURNS. In addition, the candidate is expected to belong to the New Research Reactor Development and Application Center at KURNS and to participate in the planning of the utilization program of the new test reactor to be installed at the Monju Site in the future.
