This is an exciting opportunity to teach in the MSc Culinary Innovation Management programme offered in conjunction with Le Cordon Bleu, London.

You will teach in the sustainability area with a focus in the food and beverage industry and contribute to the teaching quality within the Business School. You will develop and apply innovative teaching content and material that create a stimulating intellectual environment for our students.

You will take responsibility for the delivery of the module and assessment methods including the setting, marking and moderation of student work.

Essential Skills, Experience, Qualifications

  • Possession of a postgraduate award in sustainability and/or a good understanding of sustainability issues in the food and beverage industry.
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and trends and their implications to food and beverage businesses.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the tools available to food and beverage businesses to meet their sustainability goals.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • A self-starter able to work on their own as well as part of a team.
  • Teaching

  • Demonstrate the ability to provide excellent teaching experiences to diverse student groups at postgraduate level, on topics relevant to sustainability.
  • Contribute to the planning, co-ordination and development of the module, its objectives and material.
  • Successful teaching record including the provision of effective student support, identifying areas in need of revision or improvement in their work.
  • Effective setting and marking of assessments, including provision of feedback.
  • Successful use of a range of delivery methods to engage the students.
  • We have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Lecturer for the following modules:

  • BUMN162H7 Sustainability in the Food and Beverage Industry
  • 15 hours
  • Wednesdays, 6pm – 7:30pm, Spring term. Teaching starts w/c 13 January 2025

    Salary and benefits:

    Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on contract hours worked. The specific rate depends on length of continuous service with the College and includes of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay. This hourly rate of £68.13 per hour is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier' which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.

    Contract:

    Part-time, 8 month fixed-term contract January-August 2025 teaching Wednesday evenings 6-7:30pm.
