Associate Lecturer – Sports Psychology

College of Health Wellbeing&Life; Science Academic Grade 7 - £38,205 to £42,978 (pro rata) dependent on experience

The Role

We are looking to expand our team with an inspirational Associate Lecturer who has a passion for delivering high quality learning experiences along with substantial experience gained through teaching, relevant industry experience or both. You will join our School of Sport and Physical Activity and will contribute to our mission to transform the lives of our students.

You may be currently working in a relevant industry and/or have spent time working in a relevant industry and may be interested in combining this with your enthusiasm and ability to pass on your knowledge and experience by creating and delivering high quality learning, teaching, and assessment. Specifically we are looking for people with an expertise in Sports Psychology.

You may be asked to teach modules to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, usually through either a lecture or tutorial format, and will also contribute to the design of some learning activities and assessments. Dissertation supervision may also be part of your role.

Becoming an AL can be an excellent introduction to teaching in higher education. Some teaching experience would be an advantage; however, you may have well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant to sports psychology.

The role of the Associate Lecturer is not a full-time job so please contact us for more information on the hours available.

If you'd like to know more before you decide to apply, please feel free to give us a call.

You will be contractually enrolled into the Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country. Further details on TPS can be found here: New Starter Teachers' Pensions (teacherspensions.co.uk)
