Part-time hours - Atypical - High Wycombe and Online

Rate of pay: £48.20 per hour teaching rate, £22.17 non-teaching rate

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Associate Lecturers (ALs) interested in contributing to teaching duties and assessments on the programmes we offer within our Animation portfolio. We are seeking to appoint Associate Lecturers with appropriate teaching and/or professional experience. The role could require teaching across Levels 4 - 7. It will also include marking and moderating of student work. We are looking to further expand our team of ALs to complement our permanent lecturing staff.

An AL will commonly have a minimum of 3 hours of teaching per week in a teaching term or semester.

You will have familiarity and experience with some of the following areas:

  • Houdini Rigid Body Destruction
  • Motion Graphics AE or similar
  • Rigging in Maya
  • Compositing in Nuke, AE or similar
  • Creature Animation
  • Unreal Engine

    School of Creative and Digital Industries

    G (equivalent to Lecturer)

    Part-Time and Varied but typically (minimum) 3h per week per teaching semester

    Responsible to: Deputy Head of School – Creative and Digital Industries

    Responsible for: Delivery of taught module(s), including appropriate preparation, teaching, student assessment, marking, administration and student support

    Job Purpose:

    Associate Lecturers (ALs) are part-time and hourly-paid lecturers, who may be involved with teaching subjects at different Levels across the University's portfolio: Foundation Year; Undergraduate Degree (Levels 4 – 6); Postgraduate (Level 7)

    Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:

  • To deliver high quality and engaging learning experiences for our students
  • To contribute appropriately to the development and enhancement of the taught curriculum
  • To undertake associated activities in connection with teaching, such as, student assessment, marking, administration, communications, colleague interactions and student support
  • To provide effective feedback, support and guidance to students, which promotes improvement of performance and assistance with problems
  • To participate in relevant review and evaluation processes, including the collection and analysis of student feedback on their experience
  • To work effectively and collaboratively, with academic colleagues, professional service employees and support departments, to deliver a good student experience and deliver on University objectives
  • To engage with appropriate training in the use of the University's systems and applications, to support teaching, assessment and other activities/processes
  • To comply with the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR; Health and Safety; and Equality and Diversity requirements and legislation in all working practices
  • To undertake such other duties, temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may reasonably be required
