About the Position
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology Services (ITS), this newly created position will play a key role in shaping and executing Bond University’s strategic ITS initiatives by providing technical leadership, driving improvements, and delivering business solutions that are secure, supported and meet the organisations evolving needs.

This key leadership role is pivotal in identifying strategic initiatives and delivering solutions that support and enhance business processes and operations and will be required to engage with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

As a key point of contract with IT Services department for senior colleagues and student leaders within the University, the incumbent is responsible for building a high performing and customer-excellence focused team characterised by teamwork, open discussion, strong morale, and a focus on results towards the continuous improvement of the customer experience within the University. 

This role will also help establish frameworks, architectures, roadmaps, plans and processes to create the capacity to ensure the effective establishment of this new capability and ensure these are communicated effectively throughout universities departments and faculties.

About the person

The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of leadership, analytical prowess, and technical expertise to effectively manage the teams in optimising our business systems, leveraging the latest higher education technology offerings and driving sustainable growth.

They will also have the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree in information systems or relevant degree, coupled with extensive technical knowledge gained through education, training and experience
  • Extensive experience at a senior management level within ITS
  • Excellent leadership, people management, interpersonal communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to motivate, influence and build productive working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in ICT infrastructures and applications, design principles to software architecture, and cloud computing platforms/modern software development practices
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing automation and integration capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build capability in the team through coaching, performance feedback, conflict resolution and career development opportunities.

Membership in relevant professional bodies, postgraduate education, and prior work in tertiary education IT departments are also highly desirable.

Salary details

A highly competitive salary package will be offered, commensurate with skills and experience.
