Institute of Space and Earth Information Science and Department of Geography and Resource Management Assistant Professor (Aerospace Science and Remote Sensing ) (Ref. 240001BX) Closing Date: Until the post is filled

The Institute of Space and Earth Information Science and the Department of Geography and Resource Management are currently seeking exceptional candidates for a tenure-track academic post at Assistant Professor rank. We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in aerospace science and remote sensing. For detailed information about the Institute, please visit https:// www. iseis.cuhk.edu.hk/.

Applicants should possess (i) a doctoral degree; (ii) a strong academic background in at least one of the following areas: aerospace science, interferometric synthetic aperture radar for deformation monitoring, deep learning and big data analytics, remote sensing for urban resilience and sustainability, and carbon neutrality; and (iii) demonstrated outstanding research and scholarly work in the relevant fields, showcasing potential for research excellence.

The appointee will (a) develop and teach courses in aerospace science, remote sensing, earth informatics, artificial intelligence, and geospatial big data analysis for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, (b) conduct independent research, (c) co-ordinate with and take part in interdisciplinary teams on relevant collaborative research projects, and (d) undertake academic administrative duties as assigned.

Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially, targeted to start in September 2024, which subject to performance, funding, and mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.
