| Job Description | Weber State University seeks applicants for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Theatre, specializing in Acting and Directing, for the Theatre Program in the School of Performing Arts. We seek a candidate who demonstrates a strong commitment to undergraduate education and the needs of a large student body in the context of a dual-mission public university. The Theatre Program at Weber State University is committed to building a creative and dynamic educational space that celebrates individual differences while cultivating a culture of acceptance and respect. We are dedicated to furthering community within our program and the university as a whole. Current program-wide practices include: theatrical intimacy training; interdisciplinary collaboration; and teaching/implementing sustainability practices in classes, shops, and production work. | Job Duties | Responsibilities include teaching courses inActing and Directing at all levels, general education courses in theatre, and other courses based on special skills or interests. The Theatre Program has approximately 150 majors with concentrations in acting/directing, musical theatre, design/tech/management, theatre teaching, and theatre studies. Students frequently present and perform at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and have been recognized at both the regional and national levels.
