Position Summary Information
Advertisement The Exercise & Sport Science Program at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor in Exercise & Sport Science position.
The Assistant Professor in Exercise & Sport Science will:
Teach the equivalent of 1.0 FTE each academic year
Advise EXSS students as assigned
Develops and maintains a line of scholarship, where annual peer-reviewed
dissemination is expected (presentations and/or publications)
Collaborate and mentor undergraduate EXSS students with research
Serve on departmental, HSSH, and/or university-elected committees
Perform service (reviews, editorial boards, membership and service with
national organizations) within the field of expertise
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Exercise and Sport Science or related field
Knowledge and expertise, and ability to teach courses, in the following
areas: exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, strength
and conditioning, introduction to exercise and sport science, exercise and
sport science capstone.
Prior experience developing and teaching labs in exercise physiology,
exercise testing and prescription, and strength and conditioning
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral or terminal professional degree in Exercise and Sport Science or
related field
Experience advising undergraduate students and helping them to plan and
prepare for graduate programs in the health sciences.
Prior training and mentorship in research and some scholarly expertise,
allowing for the development of a successful line of scholarship.
Experience using community-engaged learning practices in teaching.
Expertise in some area of women's health
Scholarship and teaching philosophy align with our university's social

EEO Statement Compensation:
Annual wage is $55,858 – $62,064 depending on qualifications and
experience.
The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably
anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity,
at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on
qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. St. Catherine
reserves the right to modify or adjust compensation depending on University
needs.
