Description

The Department of History at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor studying the US-Mexico Borderlands broadly defined to begin Fall of academic year 2024-25. We seek historians with expertise in legal history, gender and sexuality, migration studies or immigration policy, cultural history, Indigenous/Native American history, and/or comparative and relational studies of borderlands. Duties will include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and service to the department, college, and university.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a PhD in history or related fields by August 15, 2024. Preferred qualifications include a strong record of research and teaching.

Applicants must upload a letter of interest, CV, teaching portfolio, and up to 3 representative publications or writing samples. Three letters of recommendation and additional materials may be requested after initial review of applications.

Applications must be received no later than October 31, 2024.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position funding is subject to budget availability.
