The Department of History at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor studying the US-Mexico Borderlands broadly defined to begin Fall of academic year 2024-25. We seek historians with expertise in legal history, gender and sexuality, migration studies or immigration policy, cultural history, Indigenous/Native American history, and/or comparative and relational studies of borderlands. Duties will include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and service to the department, college, and university.
QualificationsApplicants must hold a PhD in history or related fields by August 15, 2024. Preferred qualifications include a strong record of research and teaching.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position funding is subject to budget availability.
