The Dean of the Faculty of Sports Studies of Masaryk University announces a
selection procedure for an academic position
Assistant or Assistant Professor at the Department of Physical Education and
Social Sciences
Masaryk University is the largest university in Moravia and the second largest
employer in the South Moravian Region. The Faculty of Sports Studies of MU is
one of the smaller, progressively developing faculties on a modern university
campus in Brno-Bohunice. Its mission is to promote a physically active and
healthy life for all age and performance groups of the population and to
develop knowledge in sports and physical activities.
The Department of Physical Education and Social Sciences welcomes a new
colleague who specialises in swimming sports.
Job Description:
pedagogical activities include teaching swimming subjects, methodology,
and didactics of swimming sports,
participation in publishing activities,
participation in project activities with a physical education focus,
supervising and opposing diploma and bachelor theses,
popularisation of science, research and the importance of physical
activities.
Our idea of a suitable candidate:
a minimum of a Master's degree in Physical Education and Sport with a
specialization in swimming or any Master's degree and a 2nd class coaching
license in any of the swimming sports,
excellent knowledge of the Czech language, good knowledge of the English
language (written and verbal),
excellent communication skills,
ability to work independently and in a team,
active attitude, initiative and willingness to further education and self-
development.
We appreciate:
past or current experience of performance racing in a swimming sport,
ability to work with modern technology in the sport.
