    Reporting to the District Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation, the Assistant Director of Institutional Effectiveness is responsible for facilitating operational performance through the development and adaption of continuous improvement methodology. The Assistant Director of Institutional Effectiveness supports accreditation using leading principles and practices to foster and maintain a sustainable culture of performance improvement throughout Tarrant County College.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Performance Requirements

  • Facilitates discussions with senior-level management at the highest levels to assess current processes and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Manages the selection, scope, and prioritization of continuous improvement opportunities, including review of resource utilization across the College
  • Supports and maintains a continuous program review process across the institution
  • Provides leadership, mentoring, and training to all levels of the organization on using and practicing continuous improvement with methodologies and tools
  • Delivers significant and quantifiable continuous improvement seeking financial benefit across the organization
  • Plans and assists in executing various institutional transformation events and projects to improve performance
  • Collaborates with the District Director of Curriculum and Educational Planning to ensure program viability and effective curriculum management
  • Supports and maintains documentation for compliance with program review and closes the continuous improvement loop
  • Supervises and facilitates the institutional effectiveness process to include content development of institutional effectiveness plans (IEPs)
  • Trains and supports faculty and staff with designing and developing meaningful and measurable IEPs
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with campus and college- wide departments to comply with IEP documentation
  • Supervises the workflow of the Institutional Effectiveness Plan (IEP) process, auditing of progress, and quality of plans, and maintains the schedule/calendar for IEP development and cycle closure
  • Assists faculty and staff with closing the loop and provides feedback to assist with documenting the continuous improvement that occurs college- wide
  • Prepares reports identifying the status of departments within the IEP cycle and summarizing data and analysis of IEP results
  • Participate on councils, task forces, or other TCC committees as assigned

  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, creativity, and service to the College
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
  • Supervision Works under the general supervision of the District Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation

    Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

    Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Two (2) years of experience with increasing responsibility in continuous improvement applications and leading high-impact continuous improvement teams
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Certification
  • Continuous Improvement Manager (CIM) Certification
  • Two (2) years of experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Two (2) years of experience editing and proofreading, with the ability to produce high-quality materials while adhering to multiple deadlines
  • Two (2) years of experience developing strategic continuous improvement roadmaps and training on continuous improvement methodology and tools
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of higher education accreditation and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges Principles of Accreditation (SACSCOC)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the community college experience and culture
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication
  • Ability to prepare presentations and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, operations, and critical performance indicator data with a detailed orientation
  • Ability to effectively present complicated information to senior management, various stakeholders, and Chancellor's Cabinet
  • Ability to provide collaboration, cooperation, and service across departments
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
