Department for Continuing Education, Rewley House, 1 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JA
Oxford University Department for Continuing Education (OUDCE) is seeking to appoint an Assistant Course Manager for International Courses and Projects.
About the role
You will be responsible for leading the smooth administration of a busy portfolio of courses and projects including a full-time Pre-Master's course, collaborative major international projects with OUP (Oxford Teachers' Academy and the Oxford Test of English), six international summer schools, and a number of short bespoke courses for teachers.
You will ensure the efficient and effective administration of all key processes for the portfolio in line with departmental and University requirements, including: recruitment, admissions, enrolment/registration, course delivery, assessment, and liaison with colleges.
The role includes daily contact with around 15 full-time Pre-Master's course students per year from all over the world. It includes opportunities to accompany the students on a number of field trips in the UK and Europe and to join in programme marketing visits overseas. In career development terms, the role requires you to take responsibility, act autonomously, build relationships and think innovatively in devising solutions to unexpected challenges. Alongside relevant senior staff you will be expected to contribute proactively to the future development of the portfolio.
This vacancy has arisen as the current postholder will be acting up in a different role for a period of time and is offered on a Fixed-term basis for one year (or until the return of the post-holder)
About You

You should have experience of successfully organising events such as conferences and residential summer schools. An ability to manage budgets and forge strong relationships with stakeholders is essential.
You will need the ability to work flexibly with a significant degree of autonomy as well as the ability to work as a team and supervise a small group of staff.
