About the position
The Department of Health is funding four transition roles, one for each
Victorian Service Area, to assist Victorian contracted assessment
organisations adapt to changes occurring with the implementation of the single
assessment system. The four service areas are Area 1 covering Western
Metropolitan and Northern Metropolitan Melbourne; Area 2 covering Southern
Metropolitan and Eastern Metropolitan Melbourne; Area 3 covering Barwon-South
Western, Grampians and Loddon Mallee regions; and Area 4 covering Hume and
Gippsland regions.
The transition role is to work with all stakeholders in the Area to
communicate and educate about the changes to assessment pathways. This person
will work with and support assessment agencies to ensure quality and
consistent assessment practices across the service area and Victoria.
Some of your duties will include:
Provides strategic support and advice to assessment agencies requiring
integration of a range of policies and requirements of the single
assessment system, and achieves objectives operating within complex
organisation structures.
Communication and education of all stakeholders in a service area on
changes to assessment pathways including development of forums and
workshops.
Identifies trends, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks that may
have an impact on assessment agencies, to enable appropriate and timely
action to be administered.
Proposes and implements changes to local protocols to consistently improve
quality and effectiveness of assessment and meet new program requirements.
Evaluates existing service provision, keeping abreast of feedback and
broader developments in the service area, to ensure appropriate
developments and innovative solutions are proposed that consistently
enhance and maximise assessment quality, efficiency and continuity.
Skills & Experience
A degree with substantial extension of the theories and principles,
learned through experience; or a range of management experience; or
postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate
qualifications with extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent
alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
Ability to be responsible for program/system development and
implementation.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated
outcomes.
Strong interpersonal skills including ability to negotiate, motivate,
influence and build relationships.
Proven experience and success in managing stakeholder performance and
development.
