ARU Direct Police Education - Work Based Tutor – Chelmsford/Cambridge/London
About the role:
ARU are delighted to be working with The Metropolitan Police and the Seven Police Forces in the Eastern Region – Essex, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk and Suffolk – to train the Police Officers of the future. We are offering the new Police Constable Entry Routes (PCER) https: // www. aru.ac.uk/study/degree-apprenticeships/become-a-police- officer/about-pcer. Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) and the Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) developed by the College of Policing.
The PCER aims to further professionalise policing as a career, by both recognising and raising educational standards, and ARU has been selected by the Seven Force Strategic Collaboration Programme to provide the educational training for two new entry routes into the profession.
New Police Constables will enrol on a three-year Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA), which combines a degree programme with on-the-job training, while a two-year Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) will be available for new recruits who already have a degree.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the University working as part of the Police Education Team and make a significant contribution to supporting apprentices in their learning. Reporting to the Head of PEQF Delivery, the successful candidate will play an incredibly important role in supporting and monitoring the progression of apprentices on this programme.
Responsible for proactively facilitating progress reviews, the successful candidates will thrive in an autonomous environment and possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
This post will be located at at either Chelmsford, Cambridge or London.
