FTE: 0.5 fte (working 18.5 hours per week) pro rata

Duration of Contract: Permanent

Salary: UH9 £56,021pa to £66,857pa pro rata dependent on skills and experience

Annual Leave: 35 days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield

We are pleased to invite applications for the post of Service Lead (DClinPsy). This is an exciting time to join the team as we are significantly expanding our provision and scoping the development for a new applied psychology service hosted by the DClinPsy programme.

The programme is based in the Department of Psychology, Sport and Geography on the College Lane Campus at the University of Hertfordshire. The Department is one of the foremost amongst the new universities in teaching and research. The successful applicant will work as part of a friendly, ambitious, and enterprising team who deliver excellent training and continue to develop the programme in innovative and creative ways. We are committed to social justice and to anti-racist practice and these are integral to our course ethos. The development of an applied psychology service is expected to compliment this.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The post holder will take clinical leadership of a new and innovative applied psychology University service. They will work in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the local community and commissioners, in developing a provision that is meaningful and targeted according to need. They will take responsibility for the development, implementation and evaluation of this provision in line with best quality standards of care. They will provide supervision for both trainee and qualified clinicians in the service. Please see the Job Description for full details.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have substantial post-qualification clinical experience at a level equivalent to principal clinical psychologist. They will have substantial proven experience of supervising qualified, trainee clinical psychologists and/or assistant psychologists alongside experience of engaging communities in meaningful co-production. They will have experience of working in a leadership role and experience of being clinically active across a range of settings.

Qualifications

In addition to your undergraduate and post- graduate qualification in a relevant subject, you will have HCPC registration and be eligible for BPS Chartered status. You will also have supervision and leadership training.

In the course of our work and University-led activities, there may be external contractual obligations where a further Enhanced Check is required. DBS checks may require renewal in line with policy.
