The post of Applicant Compliance Officer is a permanent, full-time role.

Oxford Brookes is a leading modern institution with big ambitions. We are seeking to increase our global footprint, broaden access to an Oxford Brookes education, and further enhance our reputation as a leading global university.

The Admissions Office is at the heart of these ambitions, playing a key role in the achievement of the University's objectives through the delivery of a fair and transparent admissions process that enables equitable access for those students with the potential to succeed at Oxford Brookes. The Admissions Office sits within the Directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and Engagement; a confident and ambitious team of colleagues who apply professional skills and expertise to make every contact count and to make a valued contribution to the University's objectives.

As one of the largest employers in Oxford, we pride ourselves in the great experience we offer our staff. You'll be joining a friendly, professional environment where every member of staff is recognised as important to the success of Oxford Brookes University.

Overall Purpose of the post of Applicant Compliance Officer:

The Applicant Compliance team is responsible for providing a high quality customer focussed and efficient service in the issuing of CAS to International applicants and agents. The team plays a key role in ensuring the University's compliance with UKVI regulations, working closely with colleagues in the Admissions Office as well as Global Recruitment & Partnerships teams and International Student Advice and Compliance Teams.

Within this team, the Applicant Compliance Officer will support the Senior Applicant Compliance Officer to ensure the University's ongoing compliance with UKVI Student Route regulations when creating and issuing CAS's for International applicants. You will be confident in making decisions regarding immigration status and know when to identify and advise colleagues on changes to UKVI policy and procedure, and identifying and managing risk.

Qualifications and Experience for the post of Applicant Compliance Officer:

We want to hear from candidates who have experience of working in a higher education environment, preferably in Admissions, International Student Advice & Compliance or Recruitment. The post holder will have previous experience of issuing CAS letters to international students and the ability to work efficiently and accurately within systems and databases and/or CRM systems. The ability to use professional knowledge to make more complex decisions is essential.

At Oxford Brookes, inclusivity is one of our five guiding principles: we take positive steps to create an environment in which we celebrate, value and provide equal opportunity to all. We are committed to recruiting from the widest possible pool and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates who embrace our values, regardless of their background. As a Disability Confident Employer we guarantee to interview any disabled applicant who meets the essential selection criteria.

Flexible working:

We support a work-life balance for all staff, including career breaks, job sharing, flexible hours, etc. The team is based in our recently refurbished offices on our Headington Campus, joining other colleagues who work approximately two days a week in the office and the remainder at home. The agile workspace is designed to offer various styles of working, such as collaborative spaces, hybrid meeting spaces, individual workstations and a more relaxed setting of comfy sofas.

Benefits

As a Applicant Compliance Officer you will also enjoy the benefits of working at Oxford Brookes University with up to 38 days holiday, rising to 41 days holiday (this includes 13 Bank Holidays and Concessionary Days), a generous Local Government pension scheme, cycle to work scheme and access to a variety of university facilities (NHS Dentist, Brookes Nursery, Gym and sports facilities). For more information about benefits please see the document “All about Brookes” and the “Candidate pack'.

As part of the application process all applicants are required to complete our online application form by clicking on the “Apply for Job” button below. All parts of the application form should be completed and in the section of the form called “Supporting Documents”, applicants must upload their CV and a Personal Statement. To complete the Personal Statement part of the application, applicants must download the Personal Statement document which is part of the advert below and complete the form, providing examples and explaining how they meet each item detailed on the document. The Personal Statement must then be uploaded to the application form along with the CV.

We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job, but we realise the 'perfect candidate' doesn't exist. So, if you are looking to join a leading modern institution with ambition for student recruitment growth we'd love to hear from you.

This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the points based immigration system, however applications are welcome from candidates who don't currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.
