We are looking for an experienced animal technician to join our friendly, hardworking team and be actively involved in the daily care and maintenance of animals within our biofacility situated in Cambridge. The role holder shall perform general husbandry tasks, looking after welfare requirements of rodents housed in conventional caging or IVCs. The role holder shall be expected to maintain accurate records, check and record environmental parameters, complete health monitoring, alongside general hygiene and cleaning tasks. Additionally, you will have responsibility for colony management and completion of procedures, including Home Office Licensed procedures. Ideally you will hold an Institute of Animal Technology Level 2 or equivalent qualification, or at least GCSE (A-C) in English, Maths and a Science subject (ideally Biology), or equivalent. It is also desirable that the successful candidate will be expected to hold, or be ready to apply for a Home Office personal license with Home Office modules A - C. You should be positive, reliable and able to interact with team colleagues and research staff. Experience in a technical/laboratory setting, with specific experience working with rodents housed in IVC's or conventional caging. Experience completing regulated procedures or surgery would be an advantage.
