Seeking an Anatomy Dissection and Laboratory Assistant to support the delivery of anatomy teaching for approximately 2600 anatomy students across MQ University
Salary Package: From $76,654 to $82,617 (HEW level 4) plus annual leave loading and 17% employer's superannuation
Appointment Type: Full-time, continuing with flexible working conditions

The Role
We are seeking an Anatomy Dissection and Laboratory Assistant to support the organisation and delivery of anatomy teaching for approximately 2600 anatomy students across four Anatomy labs for the Faculty of Health and Human Sciences and wider University.
Reporting to the Anatomy Laboratory Manager, this role undertakes dissection of new human cadaveric specimens, including more complex specimens, conducts maintenance and restoration of current specimens and assists with tissue management including annual auditing, tagging, maintaining the register, chemical storage, and laboratory maintenance. Working with the Anatomy Laboratory Manager and Technical and Operations Officer, this role liaises with academic and professional staff to provide support for anatomy laboratory classes and assist teaching staff with the delivery of requirements for anatomy practical teaching and assessment tasks.

You will have experience in human anatomy and dissection, including complex dissections, and a demonstrated experience working in a laboratory and understanding of workplace health & safety requirements. Your excellent communication skills and proven ability to work in a team will ensure your success in this role.

Essential
Tertiary qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
Experience in human anatomy and dissection, including complex dissections.
Demonstrated experience working in a laboratory and the related workplace health & safety requirements.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Ability to prioritise projects effectively organise work and manage time.
Intermediate computer skills including word processing, image processing and database programs.
Desirable
Working knowledge of the NSW Anatomy Act 1977, NSW Tissue Act 1986 and, other relevant Regulations, Acts and Instruments.
Experience supervising students.
Current First Aid certification
