  • Must possess EPA Section 608 certification.
  • Must possess employment experience as an HVAC/R mechanic, exhibiting knowledge of HVAC/R principles and skill in HVAC/R troubleshooting and repair.
  • Understand mechanical concepts
  • Ability to perform basic math & use trade-specific tools
  • Must possess the ability and willingness to communicate professionally and effectively with University staff, faculty, students, guests, and contractors.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years HVAC experience
  • Experience in higher education and/or government
  • Ability to read blueprints & schematics and read & interpret technical manuals
  • Proficiency using e-mail and portable electronic communication devices
  • Experience reading, interpreting and completing electronic work orders
  • Experience using AiM and SAP
  • Job Description

    Responsible for maintaining adequate heating and cooling in university buildings on the Round Rock campus.

    Job Duties

    Duties include performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing air conditioning and heating systems and related equipment, including operation of refrigerant recovery equipment, on the Texas State University Round Rock campus.
