Fixed term position available with salary range of HEW 7-8 depending on experience ($x p.a.) + 17% Superannuation.
Based at the Melbourne City campus with a hybrid and flexible work arrangement.
Oversee carbon management, offsets, utilities budgets and sustainability reporting to ensure RMIT meets its carbon neutral commitments.
About the Role
The Advisor, Sustainability, Carbon & Reporting plays an integral role in the delivery of the RMIT's key sustainability plans and commitments, with a specific focus on (but not limited to) utilities management, carbon management and resource efficiency. Through robust data analysis and reporting, you will monitor emission reduction activities, develop of emission inventories, and offset methodologies. You will provide strategic insights by tracking utilities data, budget forecasting and developing market approaches for utilities, power-purchase agreements and carbon offset strategies.
As the Advisor, Sustainability, Carbon & Reporting, you will be responsible for:
The development and oversight of all university-wide corporate sustainability metrics and reporting requirements.
Track utilities data, budgets, forecasting and developing market approaches for utilities and carbon offset/power-purchase agreement strategies.
Lead the identification, scoping and implementation of key sustainability projects and process improvements within RMIT and with wider industry partners.
About You
You will have excellent data analysis and carbon accounting skills, with a considered, professional and proactive approach to leading change in a complex environment. You have exceptional communication, influencing and negotiation skills, and can readily adapt your communication style to a diverse range of stakeholders and contexts.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
Proven experience in carbon accounting and energy management within a complex property portfolio.
Demonstrated capability in data analysis, reporting, budgeting, and utilities market analysis.
Proven experience in sustainability metrics and reporting, including (but not limited to) Climate Active Certification, NGERs, and the Global Reporting Initiative Standard.
