Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and imaginative Gateway Adviser to work in our busy and vibrant Library & Student Services dept which provides support for students and staff on the Epsom campus.

The post provides first line help for students and staff in gaining access to a range of specialist support services including Advice and Finance, Disability & SpLD and Research and Academic Skills as well as locating and using the library resources, facilities, equipment and technology.

You should have experience of working in a customer facing environment, preferably a busy academic library or support services environment. Effective interpersonal and communication skills and excellent customer service skills are essential. You should also be a competent and confident IT user. Knowledge of online information would be an advantage.

We are looking for someone who will take ownership of enquiries and respond effectively under pressure, who demonstrates initiative and flexibility and liaises effectively with staff, students and colleagues. Equally important are the ability to innovate and collaborate as part of a team, use initiative, demonstrate flexibility and display attention to detail. Being prepared to use new skills and undertake staff development as appropriate, especially in the area of new technology are essential.

Hours of work are:

Monday-Wednesday 10am-17.00pm

The actual salary for this role is £11,768- £12,482 per annum.
