The Adult Education Testing Assistant will be responsible for proctoring computer-based pre/post-assessments for the OCCC Adult Learning Center programs.
This appointment is contingent upon availability of grant or contract funds. If the funds from the grant or contract that provide funding for this appointment are no longer available, this appointment may be terminated without cause upon written notice to the employee.

Minimum Education/Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalency Experience using computers and web-based software.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic Computer Skills Positive customer service. Ability to organize and complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to problem solve.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, colleagues, faculty, and staff to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently remain stationary for extended periods to proctor exams or assist students and perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to occasionally use upper and lower body to exert force up to 20 pounds to lift materials or equipment.
3. VISUAL ACUITY: This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS This position's essential functions are performed in an indoor computer lab or classroom setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in computer-based CASAS or TABE testing Bilingual or multilingual.
Required Training Work Hours
Hours are flexible based on testing needs. Monday – Friday 8:30am – 12:30pm OR Monday – Thursday 4:30pm – 8:30pm

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)
Proctor pre and post-assessments according to the academic calendar for the adult education department.
Deliver accurate and timely reporting of student testing information to the data team for processing.
Assist in scheduling student testing sessions.
Assist in contacting students for testing.
Notify students with disabilities requesting accommodation of services.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
