Are you looking for a varied and rewarding role within a supportive environment where you can demonstrate your outstanding people and organisational skills and enjoy working with data and spreadsheets.

We have an exciting opportunity for an administrator to support the adjunct/casual worker process in the Southampton Business School (SBS) and you could be just the person we need for this great opportunity.

About us

The Faculty Operating Service (FOS) works with Faculty, Deanery and School Senior Leadership Teams to support education, research, and enterprise activities. Our students and staff come from a wide range of backgrounds, within the UK and internationally, creating a multicultural and diverse community. You will join a supportive and friendly FOS team who are motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive team players who operate as ‘one-team' to provide a flexible and responsive service to our academic community.

About the role

SBS has a large cohort of students. External adjuncts and PGR student demonstrators provide additional support for teaching related activities within the School. This role supports the entire process from receiving allocations of external staff required, managing their registration with uniworkforce, issuing confirmation letters, creation and monitoring of the adjunct work allocation and payment spreadsheets, processing monthly timesheets and dealing with ad-hoc queries from the casual workers and academic staff.

This role is hybrid. Successful candidates will be able to work flexibly and remotely and will be expected to spend at least 60% of their contracted hours working on campus. Flexibility will be required should the business need require a greater on-site presence.

Please note, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship and we will not be able to consider your application if you do not currently have right to work in the UK.

About you

You are a motivated professional whose career so far might include some administrative work experience which allows you to use your own initiative, as well as manage your own time effectively with minimal supervision, or be looking for an opportunity to take a useful and relevant step in your career post-study. You will be adaptable, flexible, proactive and a strong team player who is culturally sensitive. You will have strong interpersonal skills and a positive and enthusiastic approach You will be able to build strong relationships with internal and external organisations and groups and be able to liaise confidently with your stakeholders. You will have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. You will have strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office and similar software.
