About us:

The Bridge within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business are looking to appoint an experienced, highly skilled Administrator. The main responsibilities of this role are to support the Programme Operations Manager to ensure effective and efficient administrative support for the delivery of the Arts and Culture programme, as well as Conferences, events and activities supported by The Bridge. The role involves some out of hours work, including evening and weekends.

The Bridge integrates the Faculty's professional services support for Research, Impact, Experiential Education, KE and Civic and Cultural engagement. This powerful combination of expertise supports staff, students, businesses and communities to build projects and partnerships that embed and embody placemaking - using creative, strategic, and tactical collaboration to enable positive socio-economic and environmental change.

About you:

The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and demonstrate the flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities. This is a busy and crucial role where you will work with a broad range of stakeholders from across the Faculty and external stakeholders organising events, visits and meetings (including supporting the Chairs / meeting organisers both prior-to and following meetings), providing data to inform decision making, co-ordinating calendars, minute taking, processing finances, producing and issuing contracts and contributing to financial planning, supporting the smooth running of the wider team and to assist with the evaluation and continuous improvement of these activities.

You will be a self-starter who can anticipate needs, take initiative, and confidently drive projects forward. We are seeking an assertive individual who can confidently navigate complex situations, liaise with stakeholders, and ensure the smooth running of operations.

About the role:

As a key member of our team we are looking for a candidate who is:

  • A highly skilled and experienced events administrator who can evidence working in a proactive capacity and demonstrate strong self-leadership skills, taking ownership of their work and driving continuous improvement.
  • An excellent planner and organiser who can confidently liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skilled in understanding context, recognising the impact and interdependencies of projects, and adept at spotting and nurturing connections between them to drive positive outcomes.
  • A skilful and confident communicator with excellent IT skills.
  • Able to demonstrate a professional approach and be able work both as part of a team and use their own initiative.
  • This is a permanent, part-time position working 18.5 hours per week, work pattern to be negotiated, with some home working possible, subject to business needs.

    Remote working is available up to 1 day a week.
